Take this medication as directed by your doctor, usually in the morning. Swallow the capsules whole, with a full glass of water. Do not break, crush or chew the capsules. Take this medication at the same time every day. Do not take Nexium more often than once a day. Keep taking this medication even if you feel better. Do not discontinue this medication without consulting your doctor.

Nexium (Esomeprazole) is usually taken with or without food. Your doctor may occasionally change your dose. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible and continue with your regular schedule. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

This medicine is a prescription medication. Nexium (Esomeprazole) is a prescription medication. It is not intended for use by women. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns about this medication.Ask your pharmacist or doctor for a supply of this medicine if you are not sure if you have a prescription for Nexium (Esomeprazole). Directions

Directions for use: Take one tablet once a day. Do not exceed this dose. The tablets should be swallowed whole. Do not chew or crush the tablets. May take 2-3 days for full effect. Gastro-Resistant Tablets are manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline (UK) and are formulated to improve symptoms. It works by reducing the production of acid in the stomach. It is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) which increases the acid production in the stomach. This medicine is known as proton pump inhibitors. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, and stomach pain. These tablets can help reduce acid production in the stomach and indigestion. Most people with heartburn do not experience any side effects. However, some mild symptoms of acid reflux may include upper right stomach pain and indigestion. Many people with heartburn do experience mild symptoms of acid reflux without any side effects. Tell your doctor if you have any further chest pain or difficulty. This medicine can also help with indigestion. Indigestion is caused by the stomach getting too much acid. This medicine can also help with indigestion because it stops acid production. Do not use Nexium Control if you have heartburn, acid reflux or indigestion. Call your doctor for medical advice about symptoms or about treatment. You may be able to get better with additional medicine.

Nexium is an acid-suppressing medication. AstraZeneca & Pharmaceuticals, the companies that developed Nexium, are the original manufacturers. AstraZeneca has since been spun off from them. They are now known as Eli Lilly & Company.

Eli Lilly & Company also makes esomeprazole and pantoprazole. PPI drugs are used to prevent cardiovascular disease. The US patent for Nexium 20 mg was awarded in April 2020 to AstraZeneca after the company’s patent expired in October 2022.

The US generic for Nexium 40 mg is esomeprazole 20 mg. This is a type of medicine called an anti-hepatitis drug. It works by helping to eliminate acid in the stomach. However, acid is also known to cause diarrhea and abdominal pain. Esomeprazole 20 mg also helps to prevent organ damage in people with liver disease. This medicine is used to treat a variety of conditions, including:

• Sudden hearing loss
• Heart attack
• Stroke
• Sickle cell anemia
• Stomach ulcers

Nexium is also used to treat certain types of cancer. It works by blocking acid production in the stomach. However, it is important to note that this medicine may be taken with or without food.

• if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
